Google is…one of the most influential nonstate actors in international affairs, operating in security domains long the purview of nation-states: It tracks the global arms trade, spends millions creating crisis-alert tools to inform the public about looming natural disasters, monitors the spread of the flu, and acts as a global censor to protect American interests abroad. Google has even intervened into land disputes, one of the most fraught and universal security issues facing states today, siding with an indigenous group in the Brazilian Amazon to help the tribe document and post evidence about intrusions on its land through Google Earth…Google’s executive chairman Eric Schmidt has traveled to North Korea against State Department wishes.

In answer to Kafranbel’s condolences, the people of Boston write a message in solidarity with them and their struggle.
“Boston, bombings represent a sorrowful scene of what happens everyday in Syria. Do accept our condolences.” 19/04/2013
“Friends of Syria, we too hope for the safety of your families and for peace.” 20/04/2013

Everyday

Every time some dumb fuck says something about bombing North Korea off the map I want to scream. Those babies faces, that could be my baby. I see my own daughter in all of their innocent faces. That is the same blood in her veins.

it is possible to care about multiple tragedies at the same time

it is possible to feel sad for boston but also islamophobia and also iraq and also pakistan

any posts that say “hey let’s only focus on this” are not recognizing that it’s ok to realize multiple sad things happen at the same time. we’re people. we’re made of feelings. sadness is not limited. feel as much of it as you need to.

  • HUNGARY IS NO LONGER A DEMOCRACY

    biggadjeworld:

Hungary is now a totalitarian state largely run by neo-Nazis.

Rromani & Jews have been screaming their lungs out over the last two years.

Canada & W. European countries have been repatriating Rromani refugees back to Hungary over the last several years.
They said it’s “not that bad”. They said our lives weren’t in any “real danger”.

We saw this coming.. now, it’s too late.
No one ever listens until it’s too late..

OH my god you have no idea how many times people have asked me if I have children since the age of 17. I would get so pissed because it would always be from those subtly racist people.

  • “Oscar Wilde said that if you know what you want to be, then you inevitably become it - that is your punishment, but if you never know, then you can be anything. There is a truth to that. We are not nouns, we are verbs. I am not a thing - an actor, a writer - I am a person who does things - I write, I act - and I never know what I am going to do next. I think you can be imprisoned if you think of yourself as a noun.”
